Big-Hearted Gifts Made With Love, for the Sweetheart in Your Life

Without a doubt, our Bay Area Made members are passionate about the products they make. That love really shines through in the high-quality, small-batch, and locally made goods they create. For Valentine’s Day, here is a selection of big-hearted gifts made with love, for the sweetheart in your life.

Left: Leaves + Wood perfume from Earth Tu Face is individually poured pure botanical balm perfumes imbued with the scent of real plants, packaged in precious seashell compacts.

Right: From Laromatica, Animus is an animalistic fragrance made from a combination of deep essential oils, including precious oud from Assam, and an array of exotic musks (all vegan). Delicious alone or as a layering fragrance. Seriously erotic. Animus is a Jungian term describing the masculine aspects of a woman’s personality. (Just as anima describes the feminine aspect of a man’s personality.) This fragrance is about blurring gender roles and reaching inward towards our androgynous, raw sexual energy.

Left: The 2018 Grenache from Aesop Wines is made in very small quantities by winemaker Tres Goetting from grapes grown in the Red Hills AVA of Lake County. With aromas of dried cherries, honey dew, lavender, tobacco leaf, cured prosciutto and fresh cracked pepper, it’s medium bodied with a robust entry that introduces flavors of raspberry, strawberry, red licorice and cherry cola. This complex wine is balanced with rustic mid palate tannins and a long, wet finish.

Right: Celebrate this Valentine’s season with the Love Letters Truffle Box from Recchiuti Confections. This picture-perfect collection holds 9 pieces of Burnt Caramel Truffle, made by blending dark, smoky caramel with 70% dark chocolate ganache and enrobing it in semisweet chocolate.

Left: The Rose Perfume Candle from elizabethW has moist green notes and wild roses, enhanced with accents of fresh forest berries and hawthorn. These hand-poured candles and letterpress boxes are crafted in their studio. Eco-friendly, the candle is made from 100% renewable soy (vegetable) wax, with a paper core, cotton wick and reusable glass.

Right: One of the best ways to enhance the healing properties of aloe is to add arnica, so that’s what Heliotrope did in this deep tissue massage cream. Arnica has long been used to help relieve muscle fatigue while aloe, mango butter and essential oils nourish and hydrate thirsty skin. The combination creates the perfect vehicle for a therapeutic cream that heals, moisturizes and absorbs slowly into the skin. Try it for an all-over massage or for spot treatment – there’s no need to rinse after treatment, let your skin reminisce throughout the day.

Left: St. Barts Linen Robes from Rough Linen are the essence of relaxation. The light, cozy robes rest lightly on your skin and pack well. They come in eight color choices and are suitable for both men and women – save 10% on a pair. Linen is for lovers.

Right: From Aplat, the Jardin Bouquet Tote is a reusable flower garden tote designed to hold flowers, garden stems, and herbs. The two straps wrap around and tie in front for easy bundling, while the back-seam opening easily hooks on a wall or doorknob to hang vertically. Surprise a special someone by leaving a “sac a fleur” on the doorknob to find when they come home.

Image at top of page: Bonbons from Wooden Table Baking Co. include eight heart-shaped and patterned dark chocolate bonbons filled with dulce de leche. Made with real artisanal chocolate, no oil fillers. Hecho a mano con amor – Handmade with love.
