MANU Ceramics

In my work – both in the actual making of it as well as in
the final objects themselves – I aim to refocus our attention
on the present moment and to provide a daily point
of access to what Soetsu Yanagi calls the “Kingdom of
Beauty”: a world in which our everyday lives and experiences
are imbued with beauty and meaning through the
regular use of simple objects made with integrity.
Each piece is made individually, by hand, by me, in a
small studio in West Berkeley. I throw, trim, bisque, glaze
and high fire all of my own work.
