Linea is the most recent project from esteemed coffee roaster Andrew Barnett (formerly of Ecco Caffè and Intelligentsia). Its first location opened in 2013 on 18th Street, just steps from Mission Street, and in 2019 Linea expanded to a spacious second roastery-café location in Potrero Hill. The boutique roaster focuses on exceptional, sweetness-forward coffees and has been named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s Best 11 Indie Coffee Shops in America, San Francisco Magazine’s Best Espresso and a Thrillist Best New Coffee Roaster. In 2020 Linea won a Good Food Award for its El Injerto Reserve single origin coffee from Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
